The injection site is cleansed with an antibacterial solution. A topical numbing cream, a chilled instrument, or local anaesthetic may be used to keep you comfortable — the injections are usually easily tolerated.
Each injection point takes only moments. Filler is injected, gently massaged, and the result is checked in real time — additional filler is added if needed to achieve the look you and Dr. Asma discussed.
Depending on the areas treated, the full process typically takes 15 minutes to an hour.
Once Dr. Asma is happy with how your lips look, the treated area is wiped clean. An ice pack may be offered to reduce swelling and discomfort. You might notice mild tenderness over the following day or so, though it’s rarely enough to require any pain relief.
An ice pack can ease any swelling in this window. Try not to touch, rub, or press on the treated area, however tempting it is to check on it. A bit of puffiness or soreness is expected and typically eases on its own within a few hours to a couple of days — if it’s still bothering you past the three-day mark, get in touch with the clinic.
