To reduce the amount of swelling and to bruise at the injection area, Dr Asma makes the following recommendations about how to schedule fillers Treatment:
Avoid blood thinning over-the-counter drugs such as ibuprofen, aspirin, Motrin and Aleve.
Avoid supplements, including St. John'sJohn's Wort, Gingko Biloba, primrose oil, garlic, ginseng, and Vitamin E.
Avoid topical products like Tretinoin (Retin-A), Retinol, Glycolic Acid, Retinoids, or any "anti-ageing" products.
Avoid bleaching, waxing, tweezing, or using hair removal cream to treat the area.
Do start taking Arnica two days before the therapy. (This is not needed, but it will help to reduce bruising.)
Do not drink alcoholic beverages 24 hours earlier.
If you have earlier suffered from facial cold sores, the needle punches could contribute to another eruption of cold sores. Please let your dermatologist assistant know if you are prone.
Do not use dermal fillers in case you are breastfeeding or pregnant, are suffering from neurological disorders, or are allergic to any ingredients. Arrive at the clinic with a "clean face"—washed and without makeup.
A topical anaesthetic may be applied to maximize your comfort during the procedure. Sometimes, a local numbing medication resolve injected into or around the area(s) treated.

Take acetaminophen to relieve pain as necessary.

6 to 10 Hours After Treatment
Until the redness and swelling have resolved, avoid intense heat in the treated area(s). It includes sunbathing, tanning, saunas, hot tubs, or hot wax.
To help alleviate swelling, we recommend an antihistamine during the day, such as Claritin or Zyrtec, and Benadryl at night.
If there is a visible bump, you can massage the area. Depending on the area's procedure and the product used, you may feel "firmness" These areas will settle and soften with time (usually 1-2 weeks).
Sunscreen and makeup are applied, and you may use a gentle cleanser on the treated area.
Avoid drinking partaking or alcohol in strenuous exercise, as it may result in increased bruising.
To help alleviate bruising, we recommend taking Arnica or Bromelain, eating fresh pineapple, and applying ice to the area.

What must I do after getting a filler?: Most patients can return to their everyday activities after leaving the office.
To reduce any swelling and redness from the injections, your aesthetics surgeon may recommend icing the treated area for 15 to 20 minutes before you leave.
Before you leave the clinic, you should be able to apply makeup.
After leaving the office, you should: Wait until the next day to work out or do any other strenuous activity.
Stay out of the sunlight and do not use a tanning mattress or other indoor tanning.
Avoid skimming the treated area for three days unless you accept instructions to massage the area.
A Filler poly-L-lactic acid requires you to gently massage the procedure area for about 5 minutes multiple times a day for 1 to 2 weeks. Your aesthetics surgeon will tell you if you need to massage the area.
Is there downtime??: This ranges with the filler. Most fillers do not push downtime. Be sure to ask your aesthetics surgeon whether you will have downtime.
When will I see results after getting a filler? : This also ranges with the filler. Most fillers fill the skin, so they deliver immediate or close to immediate effects. A filler also can enable your body to produce collagen, but this takes time.
